Since then, an intense written production has been published in many diff erent literary ways to describe its underground landscapes, focusing in the great size of its chambers, the charm of its lakes and the amazing speleothems decoration displayed everywhere. In this paper we present an updated description of the air-fi lled sectors of the cave ‒currently located above the water table‒ which are considered the classic parts in terms of exploration history and subsequent adaptation for touristic purposes. We will split the description of the cave following the distinct volume units corresponding to the Cova Negra, the Cova Blanca, the Cova de Lluís Salvador, the Cúpula Moragues, the Sala de los Herreros and fi nally the Sala Louis Armand.[spa] Las Coves del Drac empiezan a popularizarse hacia las últimas décadas del siglo XIX. Desde aquel momento se inicia una intensa producción escrita, que en muy diversos formatos literarios tendrá como objeto la descripción de sus paisajes subterráneos, centrándose en la grandiosidad de sus salas, el encanto de sus lagos y la fantástica decoración calcárea que profusamente las ornamenta. En el siguiente texto se presenta una descripción actualizada de los sectores terrestres que bien pueden ser considerados sectores clásicos de la cavidad, por cuanto en diferentes momentos han sido núcleo de las sucesivas exploraciones y posteriores adecuaciones turísticas.
