Descripción
Sumario:[eng] The underwater explorations, that began at the end of the 20th century and continued into the second decade of the 21st, revealed signifi cant extensions to the cave system. As a result of this, the known development of Coves del Drac increased to 7,690 m, of which 5,260 m correspond to underwater areas, reaching a maximum depth of 24.5 m. Th e subaquatic areas are divided into three sectors: the Subaquàtic de Ponent sector (1,930 m in length with a total area of 11,220 m2), the Subaquàtic Central sector (1,830 m in length with an area of 11,170 m2) and the Subaquàtic de Llevant sector (1,500 m in length and an area of 17,160 m2). Th e sectors Subaquàtic Central and Subaquàtic de Llevant have an underwater connection (Pas de les Columnes) making them one single area, individualized from the Subaquàtic de Ponent sector. Th e total surface area of the cave is 71,150 m2, divided into 39,550 m2 of underwater extensions and 31,600 m2 of air-fi lled passages and chambers. Th e Subaquàtic de Ponent sector has been divided into eight separate areas (Galeria de la Gran Duquessa de la Toscana, Galeria dels Cocos, Galeries del Canal, Galeria de la Mar, Dolç de Cala Murta, Galeries de Diana, Galeries Estígies and Galeria de les Meravelles). Th e Subaquàtic Central sector has been divided into fi ve separate areas (Galeries del Sultà, Galeria Negra, Galeries de la Connexió, Galeria de les Delícies and Galeria de la Corrosió), and the Subaquàtic de Llevant sector has been divided into six separate areas (Els Conductes, Galeries Hipòstiles, Galeria Despullada, Galeries dels Domassos, Galeria de l’Arxiduc and Sala de la Bella Mort).
