To achieve this, an examination is carried out on the translation of this genre, with a comparative analysis between crime and comedy genres.The selected corpus for this thesis is made of two American TV series: Wicked City, a crime drama, and Crowded, a comedy. The analysis comprises both quantitative and qualitative approaches, thus providing a deeper exploration of the subject matter. The first part of the analysis includes a study of the typical characteristics of the crime genre, as well as the linguistic and technical constraints that shape its audiovisual translation.
