The critical analysis of the chivalric’s lexicon of Don Quixote and of tillage, with his squire Sancho Panza, translated into French, is the subject of the paper, in which is analyzed the challenge of translating them at that time. More specifically, the article consists of a compilation of the chivalric and tillage’s terms contained in the first part of the novel, together with the definitions collected from them in the Oudin Dictionary.
