Descripción
Sumario:This paper is centred on different theatre initiatives linked to the city of Barcelona that emphasise the performing arts as a means of promoting intercultural communication, as well as overcoming the barriers that prevent its production. The analysis is focused on observing the role that translation, understood in a broad and often performative sense, plays in all these projects calling for a review of its canonical definition in academia in order to adjust it to the reality of the 21st century. At the same time, the article claims the recognition of these theatrical creations, not so much as indisputable initiatives of social nature, but as artistic products of the first order.
