Sumario:[EN] During recent years the number of companies that have implemented the Last Planner' System (LPS) has increased. This has impacted the performance of construction projects (Alarcón, Diethelm, Rojo & Calderon, 2005). In Chile, the implementation and studies of LPS have concentrated in projects of edification (Alarcón et al., 2005). The present investigation focuses on the implementation of LPS in an edification project in the phase of structures during a period of six months. During this period, the first stage of implementation was analyzed. Defects and deficiencies were determinate for this system which led proposal of new tools and protocols for the correct implementation. The results were contrasted with the data obtained from the first phase of implementation. The investigation confirms tentatively the impact of LPS because of the short period of testing which did not allow a real evaluation during a real time of production, none the less, client (construction workers) satisfaction was obtained. The investigation provided the possibility to create a series of protocols that allowed this methodology to be used in habitation projects in Chile for large hierarchical structures.
