| Sumario: | This article presents a broad overview of easy-to-understand language and links it to audiovisual translation and accessibility. First, it discusses terminological and conceptual aspects. It also summarises the main standards and recommendations related to easy-to-understand language. Then, it describes how easy-to-understand language has been applied to audiovisual translation and accessibility and puts an emphasis on the results of the EASIT project, with a focus on subtitling and audio description. Finally, it suggests a series of challenges in terms of future research. |
