Resumo:Gender violence is considered a multicausal public health problem, constitutes a serious violation of the rights of human beings, since it is a expression that originates from unequal power relations where the victim is mainly the vulnerable person, either because of their sex, gender, age, class or ethnicity. Is violence has become increasingly systematic and structural and has turned more measure towards women. However, this type of violence has remained hidden and invisible within the private life of the home, protected by the prevailing paradigm of the patriarchal society that has perpetuated and legitimized it. This phenomenon has harmful repercussions in the personal, family sphere, transcending even the social, with detrimental consequences for the physical and psychological health of the victims.
