Descripción
Sumario:The purpose of this article is to analyze the context of the emergence and implementation of the public policy called “Mayores en red” (“Seniors online”), aimed at providing training in the use of communication and information technologies (ICT) to reduce the digital, social and generational gap that affects the elderly. This program was developed by the Directorate for the Elderly of the Province of Santa Fe, Argentina, during the period 2021-2023 in the context of the global pandemic of COVID-19, a time when physical and social presence was severely restricted due to the possibility of contagion, which had a strong impact on the elderly in their daily lives. The conclusions show that these educational spaces are necessary for the digital inclusion of the elderly, however, it is necessary to implement a design and planning of continuous evaluation that allows the development of a global strategic plan.
