Sumario:From the Gadamerian hermeneutics we expose a way of understanding tradition, mainly when it acquires a textual form, addressing the way in which the understanding of a text is possible by different mediations. Translation as a mediation is understood as an understanding appropriation, since it is not a mere passage from one language to another, but a task carried out by the translator where his or her understanding is already involved. This is relevant because it allows to raise questions for those texts that are part of traditions of thought distant geographically, temporarily, and even intellectually from ours but thanks to translations, they have influenced it or even given it particularities, as in the case of Pedagogy.
