| Resumo: | The sermon is a starting point to understand the universe of printed matter in which it worked. This perspective is an invitation to the study of the Guadalupan sermon in Zacatecas. For the period of New Spain, it can be seen in the conventual libraries and in the catalogs and inventories records existing in the Parish Archives of Zacatecas and in the Elías Amador Library, a rhetorical system that edified sacred oratory. The sermon was one of the genres that had greater relevance in that period. It should not be understood only as a dissertation on some sacred passage, but as part of a ritual.
