Crystal and Molecular Structure of 2-Aminoacetophenone- N(3)-dimethylthiosemicarbazone

Condensation of N(3)-dimethylthiosemicarbazide with 2-aminoacetophenone in anhydrous ethanol produces 2-aminoacetophenone-N(3)-dimethylthiosemicarbazone, 1, which is planar withthe S1 and N1 atoms in a synconformation. The amino group forms abifurcated intramolecular hydrogen bond with the sulfur an...

Description
Summary:Condensation of N(3)-dimethylthiosemicarbazide with 2-aminoacetophenone in anhydrous ethanol produces 2-aminoacetophenone-N(3)-dimethylthiosemicarbazone, 1, which is planar withthe S1 and N1 atoms in a synconformation. The amino group forms abifurcated intramolecular hydrogen bond with the sulfur and theimine nitrogen, and an intermolecular hydrogen bond with the thionesulfur of a second molecule.
