Sumario:The Supreme Court of the Nation, from now on Supreme Court to Court, has made progress towards an authentic constitutional court, being the supreme interpreter of the Constitution, the jurisprudential criteria issued by the same are an integrating source of Mexican law, and binding for all judicial authorities, therefore, their decisions keep the law updated and give it uniformity. When talking about human rights, the judge faces a normative and argumentative challenge, since he has to observe at the same time, what is established by the constitution, the international treaties to which Mexico is a party, the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the national jurisprudence. Despite the recognition of the importance of the Supreme Court's decisions, it will be necessary to analyze whether, in the area of human rights, the Mexican High Court, and especially with the reform of Article 1 of the Constitution, should also direct its decisions towards this protection.
