Sumario:In the second half of the 19th century, the controversies surrounding the teaching of morality presented by Mexican doctrinal stance liberals and progressive liberals showed that any monopoly that could interfere with individual freedoms constituted a transgression to the exercise of individual guarantees, such as freedom of teaching and belief. For this reason, the secular or official school had to restrict its influence to the popular sectors. The need for education and teaching that would fully harmonize the training of children in public school was recognized. The secularization of primary education in the home entity in teacher associations and gained strength in the regulations promoted by the Directorate of Public Instruction. Both valued the moral virtues of infants and teachers; the first as citizens of the future and the latter, as warriors of the homeland.
