Sumario:[EN] The main objective of this PhD thesis project is to determine the influence of moisture transport on the occurrence of hydrological extremes, in particular daily precipitation extremes and periods of drought, both in present and future climate. The first objective is to determine the influence of moisture transport in present and future climate on daily precipitation extremes. For this objective, moisture transport will be quantified from an Eulerian perspective, at grid scale using IVT (Integrated Vertical Transport). The second objective is to determine the influence of the moisture source on the precipitation deficit in drought episodes. For this objective, moisture transport will be quantified from a Lagrangian perspective, estimating the origin of the water vapour that generates precipitation in each specific region. With respect to the methodology used, statistical techniques of the Extreme Value Theory will be used, as well as copula models in order to study the dependence between the variables under study.
