| Summary: | well-being of refugees is usually affected both by the reasons that forced migration and by their personal situation in the host country. The legislation governing translation and interpreting in those contexts in Spain has evolved; it still does not reflect the new social reality of the country. The demand for interpreters has increased while the required degree of professionalism and training has decreased. This paper focuses on the importance of the translator and interpreter, different roles and the requirements of the current situation and it offers a contextualized view on interpreting in the field of international protection. |
