| Resumo: | This study investigates thee ect oftheinterplay ofthevisual and thetextual modes on eStinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tale, apostmodern picture book written inEnglish byJon Scieszka and illustrated byLane Smith, and which has been translated into Spanish. emultimodal nature of illustrated books for children requires amultimodal comparative analysis inorder tountangle therelative part played byeach of these modes inthe nal product, thetranslated text. As aresult ofthis contrastive examination, it has been possible toidentify theintralingual transformations and intersemiotic transductions carried out bythetranslator inorder toconvey theoriginal text into Spanish version of this picturebook.and theparticular verbal choices made bythetranslator have made it possible todetermine theimpact ofthevisual mode intheSpanish version ofthis picturebook. |
