These texts help us to investigate into the socio-marital condition of Sicilian women, a metaphor for all women, in that historical moment of the 20th century poised between the two World Wars.[IT]La prima metà del Novecento è letterariamente rappresentata dalla pubblicazione delle opere di Vitaliano Brancati, ironico scrittore della comunità umana a lui contemporanea. Brancati, critico sulla società italiana del pieno Regime Fascista, scrive la trilogia del gallismo, composta dai romanzi: Don Giovanni in Sicilia, Il bell’Antonio e Paolo il caldo.
