Descripción
Sumario:[EN]The first half of the twentieth century is marked by the publication of the works of Vitaliano Brancati, an ironic writer of his contemporary human community. Critic of Italian society in full fascist regime, he wrote the trilogy of Gallismo, composed of the novels: Don Giovanni in Sicilia, Il bell’Antonio and Paolo il caldo. These texts help us to investigate into the socio-marital condition of Sicilian women, a metaphor for all women, in that historical moment of the 20th century poised between the two World Wars.
