The present study locates the Iberico-Roman oppidum of Iluro (in the present Malaguenian municipality oí Álora) contributing to clarifying the location of Bobastro. [ES] La conformación del topónimo castellano Álora obedece a la acción intermedia de la lengua árabe, la cual alteró profundamente el primitivo nombre Iluro, perteneciente al sustrato prelatino y en el que está presente el elemento ibérico /ili/ilu/=ciudad. Afortunadamente, la secuencia evolutiva del topónimo es conocida en todos sus estadios: lluro/Ilur /al-Lura /Allura /Álora.
