Descripción
Sumario:This paper provides school teachers of Physical Education (PE) with strategies to facilitate the development of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). The article begins by introducing the concept of CLIL and outlining the literature related to both the integration of physical education and language and recent research about PE-in-CLIL. Next, the current scenario of CLIL provision in both pre-service and in-service teacher training in Catalonia is discussed. Then, a PE-in-CLIL development proposal is detailed and presented according to long-, medium- and short-term school planning. The proposal covers school policy , provides a work plan and explains how to plan PE-in-CLIL units and lessons. Finally, the proposal is summarised and teacher training necessities in both educational administration and universities are considered.
