| Sumario: | This work analyzes the Castilian translation of Geoffrey of Monmouth's Historia regum Britanniae which is included in the General Estoria by Alfonso X. This is a partial translation of the Latin text, fragmented in several sections along the Castilian chronicle. Studying the location of the Breton sections within the chronicle and the stylistic procedures used by Spanish translators in paper will determine the function of the Historia Regum Britanniae in King Alfonso's historiographical project and its connections with the ideology of the General Estoria. |
