| Sumario: | Paral·lel metro station, located in Barcelona, has historically suffered flooding problems due to the location of one of its access stairs in a flood prone area. During these flooding events subway users were subjected to a significant risk of falling and injuries, and, sometimes, the station remain closed during several hours to avoid this kind of problems. In this paper the analysis of flood conditions of this subway access has been performed by using commercial software Flow3D. The results help to understand the hydraulic behavior of the station and, in particular, of its stepped stairs. Furthermore, this results can be extrapolated to other metro stations in Barcelona located in other flod prone areas of the city. |
