The corpus comprises books by Mishima and Kawabata for which there are two or more different translations published in Spain.Este artículo es un estudio de caso del papel de los paratextos de la traducción en la creación y refuerzo de la imagen del otro japonés. El objetivo es analizar los factores relacionados con la estereotipación para contribuir a un mejor conocimiento de los mecanismos de representación de la alteridad. Nuestra hipótesis es que un número significativo de paratextos incluyen estereotipos y que esto presenta una relación con la autoría (traductor, editor, etc) y el tipo de traducción (directa o indirecta).
