Sumario:[EN] At the end of the 18th century, Juan Manuel Manzano, archivist to the duke of Frías, drew up a complete plan for the arrangement of the General Archive of the Duchy. Amongst the numerous operations for its improvement, he proposed the acquisition of a set of books that would help in the composition and understanding of the seigniorial archive. More than forty books of notable authorship and a strong medieval component will make up an original reference room presided over, in the words of its promoter, by «new ideas that have had nowhere to be imitated»
