Sumario:Interpreting Studies research has considered the challenges faced by interpreters in a variety of contexts. In such domains, interpreters are expected to keep their reactions in check, which means that they must, often unconsciously, confront, understand, and manage their positionality. However, interpreters rarely receive specific training on how to manage their positionality. Against this backdrop, this article will detail ongoing work whose objective is to examine if university-level interpreter training leads to positionality management in graduates. The study aims to use conference-trained interpreters as a lens through which to understand interpreter positionality in the light of the complexities and challenges present in various interpreting contexts. The article focuses on the development of a simulation method, particularly the creation and design of scenarios.
