The didactic proposal presented in this paper aims to address this challenge by establishing two objectives: a) to transfer to students the role of linguistic and cultural mediator in the classroom in order to highlight the importance of this activity in our society, and b) to explore the possibilities of gesture as a tool for linguistic mediation between Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking students.En este artículo presentamos una propuesta de tratamiento didáctico de la mediación lingüística enfocada a la Educación Infantil. A pesar de no haber sido muy explorada por la investigación en didáctica del español como L2, esta etapa educativa plantea una serie de retos derivados de la confluencia en el aula de alumnado con distinto bagaje lingüístico y cultural; por ejemplo, la implementación de dinámicas de mediación ajustadas al grado de desarrollo de la competencia comunicativa del grupo.
