Sumario:In this article we present a proposal for a didactic treatment of linguistic mediation focused on Early Childhood Education. Although it has not been widely explored by research in didactics of Spanish as an L2, this educational stage poses a series of challenges derived from the confluence in the classroom of students with different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, for example, the implementation of mediation dynamics adjusted to the degree of development of the groups communicative competence. The didactic proposal presented in this paper aims to address this challenge by establishing two objectives: a) to transfer to students the role of linguistic and cultural mediator in the classroom in order to highlight the importance of this activity in our society, and b) to explore the possibilities of gesture as a tool for linguistic mediation between Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking students.
