Sumario:[EN] This paper analyses a teaching and learning method promoted by the UPV in these last years: flip education. We start from an experience carried out in an elective fourth year subject which is part of the Grado en Ingeniaría Informática (Computer Engineering Degree) at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Polytechnic University of Valencia) during 2013-2014. From our point of view, flip education offers many benefits since it has proven to be a very convenient tool to deal with generic competencies as analytical and critical thinking, analysis and problem solving, teamwork, effective communication and lifelong learning. In addition, flip education foster a more meaningful learning. The results of the analysis carried out confirms that our initial views on the flip education method are, overall, consistent with students’ opinion.
