Sumario:The article analyzes the management of emotions as a critical factor for emotional competitiveness in university teaching staff. In the last decades, the study of emotions has evolved from a linear and reductionist view towards a perspective based on the paradigm of complexity. Current research suggests that emotions are the basis on which rational thought is sustained. For organizational competitiveness, the key lies in emotional intelligence that balances both thinking and emotions. The study and management of emotions in the service sector are important, particularly in the field of education, as teachers perform work that requires the development of emotional states. The objective of the present work is to perform an analysis of documentary review of the study of the emotions as well as to apply the model of intervention related to the experiences for the case of full time teachers of the Department of Economic, Administrative and Trade Sciences of the University of the Armed Forces ESPE of Ecuador. In the investigation, a documentary and descriptive research methodology was used for the elaboration of the theoretical framework, while for the empirical study the methodological scheme of the phenomenology was used, of transversal type, with an exploratory -descriptive nature and a sample of 42 teachers. The instrument used was the intervention model of Manucci's experiences (2016). Evidence suggests that improvement actions should be developed for the management of content and emotions to redefine organizational realities.
