Sumario:Financial institutions have a common denominator, which is the high level of complexityrepresented by achieving the recovery of the largest amount of overdue portfolio in the shortestpossible time, collection management models require the implementation of policies and procedures that adapt to the real needs of the partners, having partners with arrears or partners in arrears is part of the financial business, financial institutions prepare from the beginning againstany possibility of default by a client, provisioning 1% as a concept of uncollectable accounts foreach disbursed credit operation, the problem arises when the delinquency indicator exceeds thetolerance limits defined by the institution and monitored by the control bodies. Thus, financialinstitutions must make collections management more technically efficient through processes, andthe incorporation of methodological tools to the credit and collections process, the development of a collection management model that adapts to institutional needs will allow the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San Antonio Ltda. “Imbabura” to maintain and control the overdue portfolio. In addition, through quantitative, qualitative methods and deductive empirical demonstration, aninvestigation of the existing processes of the cooperative was carried out, finding spaces andactivities for improvement that were reflected in the new management model, to which amethodological guide was incorporated for the collection management that was called the 6 "C"of collections.
