| Resumo: | The following research takes place in the Colegio Comfandi Calipso, a low socioeconomic status high school located in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. This paper reflects on the influence of the wider social context such as family, school and personal relationships in conditioning students’ ideas about second language learning taking into consideration those aspects which are not directly related to education but socio-economic context, including beliefs, thoughts, family background and influence of school in students’ life. |
