| Sumario: | The transformation and challenges of higher education systems demands that universities become modern and flexible, with implemented quality and planification systems that guarantee an effective integration between their day-to-day operations and their governmental funded projects, in order to properly manage their resources and gained benefits. To face this challenge, the Universidad de La Frontera created the Institutional Project Monitoring Division, in 2014, whose objective is to monitor and ensure the quality of the execution and closure of the programs and projects in which the patrimonial responsibility of the University (Universidad de La Frontera, 2014). This work aims to provide documented processes for the standardization of the monitoring and control of university's institutional strengthening project's, in order to assure their quality. First, a literature review of project management standards was made, followed by a review of the current university's management system; Later, designed instruments to identify good practices and gaps in project management, information was gathered and analyzed and prioritized four processes were documented under the Project Management Institute's standard. Finally, recommendations to improve Division's performance were drawn. With the execution of this work, it is expected to conduct project management processes under the international standard of the Project Management Institute and contribute to of the university's quality management system. |
