Sumario:This paper presents the Open Dialogue approach from reflections and questions out of a personal path of learning, teaching and practice in mental health. For this purpose, I drew on sources from articles relevant to the subject, interwoven with workshops and class notes, journals and drafts of shelved projects. I wrote this text to address the growing interest of Brazilian professionals working in the field of mental health to get to know the principles of Open Dialogue, which seems to reflect the recognition of the scope and relevance of this approach to current issues of the mental health system in our country. I hope to bring some useful considerations to those who wish to be introduced to Open Dialogue, who have questions about “becoming dialogical” in life and clinical practice, and who want to discuss how dialogical principles can contribute to current practices in the field of Mental health.
