Sumario:This study aims to profile users of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) based on the available data from the PrEP Panel between 2018 and 2022. Data collection was conducted in February and April 2023. The panel's purpose is to disseminate information about the dispensation and use of PrEP in Brazil. PrEP is a combination of tenofovir and emtricitabine used for HIV prevention, and daily intake of the pill reduces the risk of infection by 96%. Provided free of charge by the SUS in the oral daily use form, this prophylaxis offers a means of controlling the concentrated HIV epidemic and reducing the number of new infections. Starting from 2022, considering the current epidemic scenario in Brazil, young people and adolescents are considered a priority population. Currently, access to preventive technology is restricted to a population of gay and other men who have sex with men (82.8%), individuals of white or asian descent (56.24%), with more than 12 years of education (76.96%), aged between 25 and 39 (65.7%), residing in medium and large urban centers.
