Sumario:The main aim of this study is to demonstrate the life quality perception of Pilates® method practitioners, both sexes, in the 40 to 60 age group in a studio in Florianópolis/SC. This search is featured as descriptive. The number of individuals correspond to N=60, both sexes, Pilates® method practitioners. From these sixtypeople, N=20 were selected to endorse this search because the attend to this criterion: be in the age group and be a Pilates® method practitioner at least for 3 months in a studio. 65% were female sex and 35% male sex and the average age was 51.8 ± 4.57 years old. To measure the life quality perception, the WHOQOL abbreviated was used as the instrument to collect the information’sto endorse this study. The punctuations for each domain were calculated by the total sum of the items in each question, and the results were scores from 4 to 20, comparable to the WHOQOL 100 that were turned into a 0 to 100 scale. In this score, 0 marks or closer means the worst life quality. However, 100 marks or closer means the best life quality perception rate. The general average results stated, in one hand, that the social domain got the highest scores, on the other hand however, the psychological domain got the lowest scores and in comparison each domain between the sexes, it was noticed that male sex has a better life quality perception than the female sex. In conclusion, it was realized that the Pilates® method practitioners have a good perception life quality.
