| Sumario: | This article focuses on the constitution of the Portuguese press as a space for the discussion held internationally about the political transition in Brazil in the second half of the 1970s. Brazilians and Portuguese occupied spaces in newspapers and weeklies in Portugal, having debated the issues that involved a possible democratization of Brazil in a political scenario in which the Iberian country was going through its own process of democratic construction after the so-called Carnation Revolution. In this context, discussions between Brazilian oppositions abroad transformed the Portuguese press between 1976 and 1978 into a meeting point of ideas around themes that gained importance in the period, especially political perspectives such as social revolution, social democracy and Eurocommunism. |
