| Sumario: | The aim of this paper is to present our research findings about 3rd person accusative pronominal object in the Spanish varieties of Madrid and Montevideo and to compare the tendencies that were found to Brazilian Portuguese. Considering studies on Spanish (Campos, 1986; Fernández Soriano, 1999; Groppi; 1997), our hypothesis was that in the Spanish varieties analyzed the object omission would be restricted to [-determined; -specific] antecedents. However, it was observed null objects in other contexts, contradicting partially our hypothesis. |
