The question that summarizes the research can be formulated as follows: what is the relationship between homophobia and misogyny in the ancient period, with a view phallocentrism? With regard to the research method, the article was elaborated through literature review and literature search, especially in the hist orical and anthropological field.O presente artigo tem por objetivo discorrer sobre as raízes da homofobia e sua possível relação com a misoginia. Para tanto, torna-se necessária a retomada dos mais arcaicos resquícios do passado em busca do que, possivelmente, apontou para o início do falocentrismo. Destarte, importa discorrer a respeito da violência no período antigo, mormente no que se refere à Roma e à Grécia antigas. A pergunta que resume a pesquisa pode ser assim formulada: qual é a relação entre a homofobia e a misoginia no período antigo, tendo em vista o falocentrismo?
