Even with frequent and said to the main family support in the elderly care, there are few records about the care provided by their grandchildren; emphasizes the need to promote studies on such aspect.  A presente revisão sistemática buscou evidenciar, na literatura nacional e internacional, o cuidado prestado ao idoso realizado pelos netos. As relações entre avós e netos e os cuidados prestados podem ser entendidos como uma relação de apoio mútuo ou codependência nos diversos contextos familiares.
