Sumario:Analyzing the role of the Theory of Museology in the curricula of the Museology Courses at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro ”“ UNIRIO the present research aims to map the different theoretical approaches that have config - ured the Courses’ teaching projects, and to dis - cuss the pillars of the Museology training in Rio de Janeiro. The paper sustains the hypothesis ac - cording to which the process of legitimation of the Museology courses in Brazil, in the 20th cen - tury, have influenced the thinkers of the field to disseminate in the country the knowledge internationally known as the Theory of Museology by introducing it in the courses curricula.
