Sumario:This article offers considerations regarding the importance of the Marrakesh Treaty for access to information for people with visual impairments in libraries. To this end, it discusses the issues of social inclusion and accessibility in libraries and describes the conditions for creating and implementing the Treaty in the national scenario. Furthermore, it reflects on the role of librarians in the democratization of information and knowledge, highlighting their contribution to overcoming social inequalities within libraries. The article is a theoretical, exploratory and bibliographical study. The research concludes that greater social and political engagement on the part of society and librarians is necessary, especially with regard to in-depth studies and the development of new public policies that can strengthen the integration of people with visual impairments in libraries. It is hoped that the article will open space for new research that delves deeper into the topic of accessibility and social inclusion in libraries.
