Descripción
Sumario:This study aims to discuss the emerging need for a reinterpretation of human rights in the 21st century and the right to self-determination of indigenous peoples in the face of agricultural expansion and exploration of the environment that occurs in Brazil, originating from the application of specific neoliberal policies. The imperative of deepening the study of an intercultural vision for an adequate critical understanding of this phenomenon will be addressed, demonstrating the insufficiency of the current conception of human rights, which most serves to support a neoliberal policy of reducing the State in the regulatory and inspection activity of the environment for the benefit of economic development than for the adequate protection of human rights (especially social and cultural) of the rights of indigenous peoples.
