| Sumario: | This work analyzed chemistry and physics experiments in four science textboks collections from 6th to 9th grade of elementary school approved by the PNLD. The study was based on qualitative content analysis in order to identify levels of investigation. The presence of guidelines regarding the safety and waste disposal was also considered. It was identified 54 experiments distributed heterogeneously between collections, school years and investigative level. There was a strong concern with safety guidelines and waste disposal. Activities with some investigative characteristics prevailed (54), but a high number of experiments without evidence of investigation was still noted (34). There was no organized distribution of activities at different levels of investigation, which could represent a concern with the progressive development of scientific thinking and learning capacities. From this, it is inferred that the insertion of experiments seems to occur randomly. |
