Sumario:The objective of the study was to analyse how the relational dimension between the amateur football field in Ponta Grossa and society made it possible to convert the football capital of the player known as Russo into other types of capital. To carry out such an action, resorting to an oral history, which seeks to deepen knowledge about events and conjunctures of the past through experiences and particular versions. During his Russian trajectory, he experienced football in different stages, however it was the amateur football that he accumulated the symbolic capital necessary to occupy a prominent position, that of a veteran. In the long term, football so that it converts this capital into other social fields. The recognition of this specific capital, the recognition of recognition as what football opens amateur, the recognition of merit to be seen as an athlete indicator of recognition in this field.
