| Sumario: | This article summarizes research data from the extension project “But are there female varzea football teams?”: cartography of women's varzea football in São Paulo (SP), carried out at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) throughout 2022 and which sought to combine teaching, research and extension. The objective was to map women's lowland football teams in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo (RMSP) and draw a social profile of the composition of the mapped teams. 95 teams were located through multidisciplinary and engaged work, which included regular workshops for 6 months. It is expected that this work will enable inference and reflection on demands and issues (current and future) associated with the popular, sporting and cultural practices of women footballers in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo (RMSP), as well as stimulating the development of new participatory projects (collective and shared) with Varzeana teams from São Paulo. |
