Sumario:This article analyzes the implementation process of the Debt Relief Support Center (Núcleo de Atendimento ao Superendividado - NAS) in the state of Tocantins, focusing on the challenges and opportunities encountered since the enactment of Law No. 14,181/2021. This law, a landmark in consumer protection, introduced significant innovations, such as the possibility of debt renegotiation through collective hearings and an emphasis on psycho-emotional and educational aspects in addressing over-indebtedness. Through documentary analysis and case studies, the main elements shaping the NAS structure, the practices adopted, and the initial impacts observed are discussed. The article aims to contribute to the academic debate and to the improvement of public policies aimed at supporting over-indebted consumers.
