description The adoption of unethical practices, as known as scientific misconduct, has detrimental impacts on both the academic and social environments. Therefore, the aim of this article is to discuss the current prevalence of scientific misconduct, explore its treatment in the editorial policies of national scientific journals in the field of Physical Education, and propose strategies to understand and overcome this phenomenon. To support this examination, a comprehensive review of existing studies on scientific misconduct was conducted, allowing for the identification of the temporal occurrence of relevant terms. The term "retraction" appeared as particularly noteworthy due to its close association with scientific misconduct. Additionally, it was seen that scientific misconduct is widespread, particularly in cases involving plagiarism. However, national journals in the field of Physical Education inadequately expound upon their editorial policies concerning this matter, along with the consequences imposed for such transgressions. Based on the findings and ensuing discussions presented in this paper, it is recommended that this issue be extensively deliberated within the academic and scientific community. Moreover, it is crucial for scientific journals to adopt and widely give guidelines about the procedures for handling instances of scientific misconduct.

Por tanto, el objetivo de este artículo es discutir la prevalencia actual de la mala conducta científica, explorar su tratamiento en las políticas editoriales de revistas científicas nacionales en el campo de la Educación Física y proponer estrategias para comprender y superar este fenómeno. Para respaldar este examen, se llevó a cabo una revisión exhaustiva de los estudios existentes sobre mala conducta científica, lo que permitió identificar la aparición temporal de términos relevantes. El término "retractación" resultó particularmente digno de mención debido a su estrecha asociación con la mala conducta científica. Además, se vio que la mala conducta científica está muy extendida, particularmente en los casos de plagio. Sin embargo, las revistas nacionales en el campo de la Educación Física exponen insuficientemente sus políticas editoriales sobre esta materia, junto con las consecuencias impuestas por tales transgresiones. Con base en los hallazgos y los debates alentadores presentados en este artículo, se recomienda que este tema sea ampliamente deliberado dentro de la comunidad académica y científica. Además, es crucial que las revistas científicas adopten y den ampliamente directrices sobre los procedimientos para manejar casos de mala conducta científica.A adoção de práticas antiéticas, reconhecidas como má conduta científica, provoca impactos negativos no meio acadêmico e social. Diante disso, este artigo tem por objetivo discutir a prática de má conduta científica na atualidade, verificar como o tema é abordado nas políticas editoriais de revistas científicas nacionais da área da Educação Física e apontar alguns caminhos para compreender esse fenômeno e superá-lo. Para dar suporte à discussão, foi realizado um levantamento de estudos sobre má conduta científica, identificando a ocorrência de termos correlatos ao longo do tempo. Notou-se que o termo “retratação” foi destacado, visto sua estreita relação com a má conduta científica. Observou-se também que a má conduta científica é comum, sobretudo, após o reconhecimento de plágio. Verificou-se que revistas nacionais da área da Educação Física não explicitam, de forma clara, quais são suas políticas editoriais para abordar o tema e quais são as consequências para tal fato. Diante dos resultados apresentados e da discussão traçada ao longo do texto, sugere-se que o tema seja amplamente debatido por todos da comunidade acadêmica e científica.
