Sumario:This work tells fragments of the life story of Mestre Samuray, a capoeirista cearense who taught Capoeira at the Universidade Federal do Ceará. The general objective was to investigate Mestre Samuray's legacy for the training of capoeiristas in Ceará. The methodological path for the construction of this narrative follows a qualitative approach, based on the (net)ethnographic immersion of the author, who is a capoeirista and had contact with the master and his disciples. The main source for the construction of the narrative, presented here, was an edition of Debate com Ginga, in which some of the master's disciples were interviewed, searching in their memories the role of the master in their lives. The results constitute a set of information that made it possible to narrate a fragment of Mestre Samuray's life story and his participation in the training of capoeiristas, in Ceará, in dialogue with the university.
