Sumario:The speed of the changes, competition and technological advance demand new decision-making processes, through work-teams in which trust, communication, finding the "right" people and developing a common objective are essential."Care-giving" transcends its etymological sense and takes on a meaning of holistic care. This study is a review of the literature which describes the characteristics of team work and new approaches to nursing work. Therefore, reflection and an awareness of changes in the everyday work environment are essential.
